Fear is a captor, a dream stealer and a future snatcher. So why do we allow it to have it's way? Think back over your life and picture how it would be if fear didn't exist. Why do we feed fear? How can we starve it and force it to die, so that "we" can truly live. There is so much more available to our hearts, our minds and our soul, when we push past the resistance to change and the anxieties of the unknown. How many lives can be positively affected if we'd just obey that desire to step out on faith. The unknown is exactly that "not known". So since we don't know, why do we automatically attribute something bad or doom and gloom to the outcome?

Think of life as a present. The only way to find out what's inside of your present, is to peel the wrapping off and open the box. It doesn't happen all at once. You first have to locate the best place to "start" peeling and then you must begin tearing, which takes a deliberate action on your part. After you've ripped the paper off, you then have the task of prying the box open and pulling off the protective covering that's designed to keep the gift inside safeguarded. Once this is done you can then see and hold your gift. It could be something you've always wanted or something you didn't know you needed. Sometimes it's a little work and sometimes it takes a lot of hard work; but either way "YOU" are the determining factor as to whether you obtain the gift in life, that was created for you. So congratulations! The fear is yours and no one else's. You can choose to hold on to it, or you can dismantle it, one step at a time.

If you feel like you need support taking those first steps, seek support from your friends and/or family, but choose wisely. Don't solicit support from dream-killers (people that feel it's their duty to remind you of all the negative possibilities), or people that just go along with whatever you decide even if it's wrong or not the best for you; enabling you to continue in your fear. People who don't challenge you or encourage you out of your comfort zone should not be confided in. Seek out those around you who are positive, honest, and not only encouraging, but will hold you accountable. Don't be afraid to seek counseling if needed, to help you unlock those barriers that fear uses to confine you. Take the first step now. Your new life awaits!!!

Wonderful analogy. I love it. Fear is truly a gift or opportunity that we have to hold on to (which keeps us in bondage) or to open up by walking through that which we fear. I choose to open my gift and claim the desires of my heart. I am glad that professionals like you are available to help people overcome barriers to their success. LOVE THE POST
