I like to think of the change of seasons as an opportunity to do some personal internal and external change as well. How was your summer? Besides the usual summer fun, were there some loose ends that you'd wished you'd tied up, or things you meant to accomplish personally, that you haven't yet? Now that fall has begun; use the symbolic nature of this seasonal change as inspiration to think about some "personal" changes. Changes that can benefit your health, mental state, emotional state and physical surroundings. Consider changing some simple things in your home such as bedding, home accessories, or by putting away things that have been taking up space. Switch up your home's fragrance and think about incorporating some colors that inspire you, or make you feel happy and comforted. Think about 1 to 2 habits that you'd like to change and begin actively incorporating that change into your routine. Explore the deliciousness of foods that are specifically in season for the fall, by really "savoring" them and not just eating, which can become mechanical sometimes. Foods such as apples, bananas, collard greens, mangos, sweet potatoes, yams, peas, pears, pineapple, kale, cranberries, and carrots are all delicious and nutritious; and there are even more seasonal foods for your taste buds to explore.

Try to deliberately commit to doing something just for you at least once per week. It's important that you remember yourself. Check in with yourself; check in with what you need, want, and desire. You'll find that your wants, needs and desires are not always going to be the same. We are multidimensional beings with many layers, so it's a good rule of thumb to think about and explore those layers. Once you do, make a short-term and long-term list of how you plan to meet those needs, wants and desires. When your list is complete, start putting that list into action, little by little, so you don't become overwhelmed or discouraged. Remember: you can't eat a whole pie at once, you've got to eat it slice by slice. Prioritize your slices, then start eating. Breath in and allow the crisp fall air to fill your lungs...exhale.... and release the heaviness you've carried prior. If you have a patio or space that you can sit outside and just think, use it. Make it an inviting space and spend some time outdoors before it gets too cold; sitting quietly and listening to what your spirit and the universe wants you to know or do. Embrace your change along with the changing leaves and the changing temperature. Ride the wave of Mother Nature's time clock of transformation. Use it to personally evolve, just as the seasons do, and take note of the true marvelous beauty that unfolds. Fall into your transformation.
